T-MAC'S ARRIVAL, PART ONE

October 20, 2006: Well, Peter Han left today for Chicago.  He’s still nervous about his marathon.  We told him he should consider buying some new racing flats tomorrow.  It’s always good to try at least one new thing in every big race.  I could see he was considering it at he left for the airport.  PH, if you’re reading this, we were just kidding about the racing flats!  Don’t do it, man!  Just have a great race and STOP worrying.  It’s just a damn race!

He had his screening of “What it Takes” at the carbo party last night.  Through no fault of the film it didn’t go as planned.  I guess what he paid for and what he got were quite different things.  Isn’t that always the way?  There are a lot of bad people out there.

Pete, myself and Paul Regensburg hooked up at Lava Java today and went out for a 40 minute easy run.  We ended up running to the Kona Harbor and back.  The 40 minutes turned into 60 minutes.  The “easy” pace turned up a notch or three as we came back down the Drive.  Is it even possible to jog slowly on that road outside of race day?

We bumped into Tom Evans out there.  He looks lean and sounded confident.  Be nice to see the Canadian boy have a good one!

Our friend Trevor “T-Mac” McReynolds is scheduled to arrive in an hour.  We’re gonna jet out to the airport and pick him up.  T-Mac rounds out the three amigos on this trip.  He doesn’t do triathlons but he’s a fan of the sport and can bike the shit out of Pete and I right now.  Parties are better when T-Mac is there and we’re looking forward to him getting here.  The only thing is, I don’t know if he’s ever been on a paddle board.  Should be interesting when we tell him what he’s signed up for race day!
