PETER'S JOURNALS

KONA - #4 - FRIGGIN BUSY

OCTOBER 12, 2004:
This is going to be a short note because I am a bit tired from all the stuff I had to do today.  Wednesday's always seem to be the busiest day of Ironman week.  I will make up for it with tomorrow's journal.

Basically my day went like this:

6:15: Swam at the pool.  It rained really hard last night and the local thing is to not swim in the ocean after a hard rain.  The pool was a bit crowded but luckily Steve the most amazing Masters coach let us have a lane so that we could get a hard swim in.  Basically did a 1000 warm up followed by some hard 100s on short rest.  Then a short warm down.

7:30: Easy 30 minute run on Alii Drive.  I was in the total zone.  It seems every workout that I am doing I am getting more and more into the zone.  This is good!

10:00: Canadian conference call with LB and Heather Fuhr.

11 - 12:30 Reebok, Specialized, Oakley, PowerBar appearance at the Hawaiian Pedals bike store.  This is the first time that all my sponsors got together for one big appearance.  I am so thankful that they agreed to work together.  The was a pretty good turn out and the people who showed up got some good swag.

1 PM - 2:30: IronmanLive and NBC interview - this always seems to take forever.

2:30 - 3 PM: Pulled some strings and was able to register out of hours.  Actually NBC pulled the strings because the interview lasted a lot longer than planned.  Plus, they were running behind schedule because the Bachelor guy celebrity who is racing showed up an 1 1/2 late for his interview so all the pros interviews got bumped.

4:30 - 5 PM: High cadence spin on bike

5 - 6:00: massage

Diner then Alias and in bed by 8:30!
