2002:
RAIN! RAIN! RAIN!
It rained so hard last night. I can’t remember
when it has rained so hard in Hawaii. The rain
let up a bit this morning and I headed out for a
run. It was pretty early in the morning at no
one was out. It was really nice to run down
Alii drive and have total piece and quiet. I
run a lot at home on very quiet trails through
the woods ,which is almost like meditation for
me. Running down Alii this morning with hardly
any cars or fellow competitors was like being
back home in the woods. I must say that I have
never been this relaxed before Hawaii. It is
nice to not waste all the extra energy being
nervous.
After my run I had a quick breakfast and shower
on then on to meet the NBC crew for an
interview. After I was done with NBC I did an
interview with IronmanLive. The NBC crew this
year is awesome and they really know what they
are doing. It is going to be an awesome show.
I am going to be one of the three features
during the broadcast. NBC came up to Victoria a
few weeks ago and they followed me around for
two days. They got some awesome shots.
The rain never let up today. Luckily you can
swim in the rain; so, I headed to the pool with
Sean for a 45 minute swim workout. Chris
Macormick, Thomas Hellriegel, and Stefan Holzner
had the same idea. It was basically the five of
us alone in this huge 50M pool.
I have a Reebok autograph session at the Reebok
store at 4 PM which is just before the Ironman
parade. I don’t know how the parade is going to
be in this torrential downpour!
The next few days are going to get real busy
due to some light training, sponsor stuff, media
stuff and race registration. I will keep you in
the loop!
